3D Animation: Subfocus – ‘Rock It’ Music video

I created a transforming rubiks-cube style tower for this section of the music video for ‘Rock It’, by Subfocus. The blocks were individually rigged with each other and I worked in reverse in order to have the blocks line up in formation as the tower at the end.
I also created a digital slitscan and worked to emulate the sequence from the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey. This involved working on two very large textures, which were applied to very long planes in 3D space. I flew a camera with a very small lens down between the two planes to create the motion, with glow added in post. I also created the 3d model of the Yeti creature.
