3D Animated TV Commercial

Swale Heating required a dynamic TV advert to introduce their boiler installation and servicing company to the London area. James worked up the initial ideas from the concept stage based upon an existing script and created the visual style that was eventually agreed upon.

Numerous tests, concepts and iterations were put forward to the client, eventually developing into a distinct trio of visuals; a 1970’s road lined with beetles, various toys, objects and fads of the era, and a final shot of a Swale Heating installation van driving over a bridge in modern-day London, before introducing a boiler that jumps from the back of the van.

After all the 3D models were created, the animation takes a quick fast-forward through time from the 70’s to present day London using various typically British 70’s motif’s. Additional detail was added in the backgrounds with an unfolding 3D card-esque model of the London skyline.

The ad was broadcast on ITV London to help introduce their service into the city.
