Vehicle CGI & 3D Animation

Pole 2 Pole Communications commissioned James to help create an iconic 3D animated video to introduce and showcase the performance of a new tape storage library by a leading technology manufacturer.

The aim of the video was to use vehicle CGI and the metaphors of fast cars, big rigs and monster trucks to represent speed, storage, security and reliability.

In addition to the creation of the vehicle models, various environments were created to serve as digital playgrounds, including a light tunnel, desert and digital landscape made up of component parts of their product.

Multiple render layers were used to give a large degree of control in the composite, with effects such as lens flares, dirt, dust and artifacts added in post.
